Serving the Community
There are many different Christian churches and denominations in Fleet, but all have the same calling: to worship God, to share the good news about Jesus and to work for the good of all people. Fleet Methodist Church is part of Churches Together in Fleet and Crookham, a group of 11 local churches that run and sponsor a variety of community projects and events through which we aim to share God's love in the community. These include:
We don't believe anyone in our community should go hungry. Based at Fleet Methodist Church and run in partnership with the Trussell Trust, this project provides emergency food parcels for those in crisis, from donations given by people in Fleet. We also have bases in Hook and Darby Green. More information can be found here or on Hart Foodbank's website.
Fleet and Crookham Churches Together in Schools
Operating in all local primary and secondary schools, FACCTS works with students and staff in order to share the Good News with them. Projects include curriculum support (including assistance with RE lessons and our Christmas and Easter Presentations), after-school and lunchtime clubs and staff support. More information can be found on FACCTS' website.
Every Saturday night, our team has a stall on Upper Street, offering coffee, care and a reassuring presence to those who relax and work in the town centre at night.
Christians Against Poverty
Churches Together run CAP Money Courses, helping local people understand how best to manage their money. Versions of the course are also run for university freshers each September and for Year 9 children at Calthorpe Park School.
