ENCOUNTER GROUP - NEW
Encounter groups are a group of about 12 people who meeton a regular basis (fortnightly) essentially for Bible Study and spirtual growth through fellowship, discussion and prayer.
FIRST MEETING: Thursday 14th January, 7.30 pm at Church
At this meeting we will see whether we need to set up one or two new groups and also details of location, content, date etc.
CHURCH BIBLE STUDY
This is an 'open' group that meets at church, not limited by number that has more of a 'teaching' emphasis to enable people to get to know the Bible better and how it relates to life. Past subjects have been: Birds' Eye view of the Bible, Small books of the Bible.
FIRST MEETING (fortnightly): Wednesday 20th January at 10.30am and Thursday 21st January at 7.30pm
PRAYER
TEACH US HOW TO PRAY
Monthly meetings where we explore prayer in terms ofwhat we can learn about prayer... followed by actually praying!
FIRST MEETING: Tuesday 19th January 7.30pm ...then the First Tuesday of each month.
CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
If you have recently joined the church or have been considering baptism/confirmation/membership for a while, and you would like to now take the matter further to become a church member please come to an introductory meeting on:
Sunday 17th January after the morning service (for about 30 minutes to agree dates etc of future meetings).
For existing members, you are welcome to come along as a 'refresher' course!
Coming to the meeting and subsequent meetings does not commit you to being baptised or becoming a church member but gives and opportunity to explore the possibility. A decision does not need to be made until later!
If you are unableto make the 17th please let Revd Stephen Robinson know. Further details can be found in this month's Contact magazine and on the leaflets in the Entrance Foyer which are titled 'Belonging to the Church'.
We hope to have a real celebration on Easter Sunday (4th April) which includes baptisms and confirmation and welcome of members.
